Madam Janet Awuah, women’s organiser of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) on Saturday gave over 250 widows and needy in her constituency some Christmas package which includes bag of rice, cooking oil, mackerel,Tin Tomatoes and some money to aid their transportation to their homes.
This is an initiative according to her was started since she became woman’s organizer where widows in all the polling stations in the constituency were to enjoy the generous gesture.
Noted for generous and philanthropic acts through the help of some corporate individuals, the Kwadaso women’s organiser has had widows and the needy at heart.
Speaking to the media after the presentation promise to continue this donation even in every six months to put a smile on the faces of these poor widows and needy people.
She noted that God has a special heart for widows and the needy in society.
Madam Janet Awuah took the opportunity to advise parents to take advantage of various government policy interventions, particularly the Free senior high school education policy and enroll their children in school.
Parents must make meaningful contributions to the education of their children with the needed care and materials to enable them to achieve their aspirations.
This she indicated will be a positive step to reducing cases of teenage pregnancy among the youth and promoting their development.
Maame Abenaa Tawiah, a 65 year old widow expressed appreciation to Madam Janet Awuah for the love shown her and her folk.
60 year old Auntie Mansah said some of the widows like herself are suffering to cope with life.
Such generous acts by philanthropists like the NPP women’s leader gives hope to some of them that they are not forgotten by society.
