Extend National Health Insurance Scheme To Cover Free Screening – Mr.Obiri Yeboah

The Executive Director of Obiri Foundation, Mr Stephen Obiri Yeboah has called on Government to include free screening under Ghana’s National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) to ensure comprehensive national health care.

He noted that the inclusion of free health screening into the scheme would help improve access to health care to encourage the citizenry to know their health status to prevent untimely death.

Mr Stephen Obiri Yeboah made this statement when he spoke to a section of the media on the sideline of free health screening his organization organised for several communities in Nhyieso Constituency in Kumasi.

The health screening which was organised for three consecutive weekends in communities including South Suntreso, Pataasi, Fankyenebra,Santaasi, Ahodwo,Atasomanso and Daaban saw a number of people close to thousand(1000) screened for Hipetitist, Diabetes, malaria, Hipetention among other ailments.

Mr Stephen Obiri Yeboah , noted that there are a lot of Ghanaians who do not have the means to go for health screening and thus his organization consider the need to provide free health screening for them. He used the opportunity to appeal to other benevolent organizations and individuals to assist them to organize such free health care to the people , especially those living in the poor communities in the country.
